MARTEV – research project for emission estimation

We have been awarded a grant together with Brno University of Technology to research and develop a method for indirect measuring of traffic exhaust and non-exhaust emissions using existing city cameras for traffic monitoring. With the use of AI, the categorized trajectories of the individual objects would be extracted from the video streams. This data describing the dynamics of the traffic flow will be an essential part of new microscopic models for estimating the production of CO2, NOx, and PM emissions. The result of the project would be an easily applicable and scalable solution that will make use of the existing camera infrastructure for both real-time and continuous emission measuring.

Adaptive traffic control – blocking vehicle use case

Changing traffic signals adaptively when there is a vehicle still in the junction is possible thanks to real-time FLOW edge video analytics. How does it work? After FLOW detects the event the information is sent live to the traffic controller via UDP API, I/O module or SDLC to change the signals accordingly.
This way you can increase safety and help prevent more cars from getting stuck in the middle of the junction. You can even set up a webhook signal to send info to the traffic monitoring center when a car has been there stuck for longer than a specified period so that they can dispatch police there to resolve the situation.
