On January 10-11, Transportforum – the Nordic region’s largest annual conference within the transport sector, will be held in Linköping, Sweden. At the conference, researchers and stakeholders meet for knowledge sharing and benchmarking.
COWI, our partner in the Nordic countries, will be present with a stand (number 28) and give several lectures. On Wednesday January 10 at 15:30-17:00 Mathias Sdun, Chief Specialist at COWI, will talk about risks associated with bus stops based on analyses conducted using DataFromSky (read our recent article). Mathias will also explain how DataFromSky analysis can give us detailed information about road user’s behavior before some accidents really happen and thus give us the possibility to act preventively.

DataFromSky has participarted in PTV’s periodic event – Traffic Innovation Workshop, held on 26. 10. 2017 in Dubai, UAE! Thanks to our regional Business partner in the Middle East, the capabilities and great progress of DataFromSky system was demonstrated during this event, which is a good opportunity to bring together transportation professionals and ITS providers from public authorities, consultancies and academics.
We are pleased, that our solution have attracted many participants of the event and that we have met with a very positive feedback!
Our team attended the event called “Industrial Day”, held between 21. and 22. 7. 2017 in local airport of Přerov. We presented our work and capabilities at the seminar on “UAV/UGV and its use in Security”, an event dedicted to introduction and presentation of cutting edge technologies to support the use of robotic and unmanned systems in the development of Intelligence Surveillance Reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities for the Czech Armed Forces. We demonstrated our technology DataFromSky for tracking the moving object in the aerial video data and also our project related to perimeter security with a drone.
The event has been organized and supported by Ministry of Defence of Czech Republic, in cooperation with the Department of Industrial Cooperation and Organization Management (SPSŘO), LOM PRAHA and the Association of Defence and Security Industry (AOBP).
We are delighted, that our solutions have attracted many participants of the event and that we have met with a very positive feedback!
Our team of DataFromSky comes up with lots of news, opening online webinars for our customers, potential clients and partners is one of it! We would like to get more in touch with You; therefore, we decided to start sharing our knowledge through a creative way via online web seminars, where everyone can contribute to the debate.
Agenda of DFS WEBINARS:
– Introduction of the project
– DataFromSky Viewer – software tool for advanced interpretation of traffic data
– DataFromSky Traffic drone & Traffic Balloon – special hardware for precise data collecting
– Practical demonstrations of application of DataFromSky in traffic analysis
– Research & Development – detection of near accidents, real-time traffic data
The webinar is opened and higly recommended for everyone, who is interested in learning more about DataFromSky! The only thing you have to do to join the online seminar, is to send your registration via email to the following email address: email@example.com
Please, mention the days, that would be suitable for You. The confirmation with the specification of the date and time block of the webinar will be sent back to your email afterwards.
One online webinar would take around half an hour and one time block is limited for maximum of 7 participants.
First webinars will start from 1. 3. 2017!
Do not hesitate and join our online web seminar to find out more interesting characteristics about DataFromSky.
We are looking forward to connecting on DFS WEBINAR!
A Workshop titled Modern methods of image recognition and processing methods was organized recently by Technical University in Liberec. The aim of the workshop was to offer insight into image processing applications from the industry, as opposed to research setting.
We presented principles of detection and classification of vehicles from aerial video data using Deep Neural Networks. As you can imagine, Deep Neural Networks are integral part of DataFromSky platform and are used in many subtasks of DataFromSky solution. If you want to know more about the magic behind, you can download the presentation (PDF, 2 MB) and/or contact us.
The famous Italian exhibition Smart Mobility World also this year allowed to exhibit some of the best innovations within the traffic and mobility field. Every year more and more smart and technological, and we were there!
Therefore we would like to thank to all our visitors for their interest in the exposition and our video analysis service which helped them to get a deeper understanding, for visiting our conferences (Smart Mobility World 2015 presentation), bilateral meeting, or simply for standing by and giving us some kind words.
Thanks to Smart Mobility 2015 we had the opportunity to hear people’s opinions and see their interest in a project we’ve been developing for two years, with commitment and dedication, in order to provide a service that is currently one of a kind. The important results we’re getting, that can be seen on our videos and confirmed by our partners, are something we’re very proud of.
We would also like to thank to la Repubblica magazine for mentioning us in their article “Smart mobility world, il futuro è prossimo nelle città italiane“.

David Herman and Adam Babinec went to present DataFromSky, with a presentation as well as a stand, and talked about the applications and methods behind DataFromSky.
If you are technically minded, you can download the presentation (PDF, 2 MB) and learn more about guts of DFS and the methods used. This presentation went into significantly more detail than anything we have shared here so far – it’s a shame we did not manage to record a video. Still, our technology is innovative enough to be published in academic journals and at conferences, so hopefully we will have some papers to share later. There are still lots of ideas to try out…
In case you are curious, the complete chain of institutions behind the seminar is this: Institute of Mechatronics and Computer Engineering – Faculty of Mechatronics, Informatics and Interdisciplinary Studies – Technical University of Liberec.
At the end of July, our Italian partner, Andrea Marella of Traficlab.eu, led an online seminar about road safety titled “Road traffic safety (RTS) management system standard“. DataFromSky was mentioned as one of the best ways to gather information about driver behaviour and safety.
During 2012 the International Organization for Standardization published a new standard called: ISO 39001:2012 – Road traffic safety (RTS) management systems – Requirements with guidance for use. The ISO provides a tool to help organizations to reduce and ultimately to eliminate the incidence and risk of death and serious injury related to road traffic crashes.
The webinar in question offered the following information and training:
- Road safety concepts
- Road risk factors
- ISO 39001:2012 standard requirements
- Road traffic safety (RTS) in the management systems
- Guidelines for auditing a RTS management system
DataFromSky was mentioned as a great source of data, and we must agree. The conflict heatmaps from simulation on next slide are exactly what we can deliver! Furthermore, we can do this from real data.
Stay tuned for more news about road safety…
